Neglecting Your Neck: Temple Spa Exalt Firming Neck Gel Review

Temple Spa Exalt Firming Neck Gel Review

Hello lovelies! Today I'm talking all about neglecting our skin. Ok so most of us do the basics. You know what I mean, the odd face wipe here, the cleanser there. Maybe even a toner and a moisturiser. If you're feeling extra fancy (or less sleepy than normal) maybe even a swipe of micellar water and a touch of eye cream will be thrown somewhere into the mix. We all know the importance of looking after our skin especially revolving around the facial area. That's the one part of our body that is constantly exposed the harshness of day to day life. But what about the other part that is often on display... Yes I'm talking about our necks of course. I'm ashamed to say that I never moisturise my neck, like ever. Eeek. It's making me cringe thinking about it.

Why do us girls neglect the neck area so much? Its attached to our face so how come we forget about it? Did you know that your skin on your neck is thinner than your face making it just as important to protect? I have an oily face whilst on my neck, the skin is quite dry. My moisturiser isn't moisturising enough for my neck but then my more thicker moisturisers are too thick to sink in. I just can't win. Maybe this is because I've never thought of using a product made especially to target the neck area. I always thought that neck creams were for the more mature ladies but that definitely isn't the case.

A few weeks ago, I was kindly sent this Exalt Firming Neck Gel* from Temple Spa to try out. Anything with the word spa in and I'm on it straight away. After hearing that Nicole Sherzinger was a huge fan of their products I couldn't wait to see if I would transform into a goddess too. Only joking, but she does have gorgeous skin so a girl can dream right. Here's a little about the brand
"The soul of Temple Spa is about wellbeing. Not hope in a bottle or believing that life's problems can disappear at the mere whiff of an essential oil – but by offering a range of divine preparations and treatments aimed at busy people, the overstressed and those that love the very best in skin care."

Claims:
- For both mature and youthful skin
- Contains natural anti-ageing benefits
- Locks in moisture, firms and regenerates
- Lightweight and non sticky with an elastic texture
- Skin feels cool smooth and soft
- Contains powerful antioxidants to protect and encourage cell regrowth
- Contains Vitamin E which boosts collagen and in turn reduces fine lines, wrinkles and age spots
- Works in synergy with Vitamin C to treat dullness and brown spots
- Contains olive oil to lock in moisture and prevent moisture loss

Product:
The product comes in a glass pot. Who doesn't love a bit of glass on display? It just feels and looks so grown up. There is a white pull tab lid inside which is something that is handy as it stops all your product flying about. I'm easily pleased when it comes to random things so the introduction to the spatula was a special moment for me. My own personal spatula! My skincare journey just stepped up a notch. The product is a clear pinky toned elasticated gel like formula. It reminds me of the Body Shop's Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask without the over the top sticky/claggy feeling. This is so lightweight that it feels very silky on the skin and I'll just add that the smell is absolutely beautiful! A tip I was given was to apply dollops of this to the backs of the hands so that they moisturise your hands as well as your neck. Who doesn't love a bit of multitasking?

Thoughts:
In terms of results. I can't comment on the reduction of wrinkles as I'm not there just yet but in terms of moisture I can definitely feel the difference. This has been dubbed the non surgical neck tuck which I find fascinating. I don't have any creases on my neck area but the texture definitely seems to have smoothed out with all that hydration. My skin is looking a lot brighter as previously my neck looked dull and well kind of beige looking. I'm hoping this pot lives up to it's claims of firmer, younger looking skin as I'd like to hold off the ageing process in this area a little longer. In terms of negatives, I really can't think of anything.

Temple Spa's Exalt Firming Neck Gel* is a bit of a splurge with it being £39 but who doesn't love a bit of self indulgent pampering. You can find Temple Spa's range at Harrods and Selfridges but if you live miles away from those dreamy stores like me, they do have an online store too. I'm now aware that my neck is part of my face which is a weird thing to say but an important thing to remember. I'd just like to apologise to my neck for not giving it an attention.

Do you moisturise your neck? Please say you don't so we can feel guilty together!

  22. I think everyone neglects there neck, I don't know necks just seem perfect to me, until we start getting old and start seeing major wrinkles, so I guess its not such a bad idea to give little old neck some attention sounds like a great product too.\

  27. Yep, I'm moisturizing my neck, but gosh, just a week or two, I was so lazy with everything, you know that feeling when your baby bump makes you not to do the things you usually do. Maybe it's just a laziness in me in this stage, but I agree that our neck needs moisturizing too just like the other part of our body.
    Have a lovely day, Sophie!

  43. Sometimes I think about my dry neck but then I just forget about it because there is nothing to use on it, only body lotions that are to thick and don't feel right on the neck. Nice to know that there are now brands bringing neck creams to us :)

  44. I am 62 and I take good care of my skin. However I was searching for a product that firmed the face and neck. For the last two months I have been using the Somaluxe Firming Lotion (a bottle lasts about 2 months) and I have noticed a major difference in the firmness of my neck - it looks soft and the lines have definitely be smoothed out.
