Hello lovelies! We've all heard of facial cleansing brushes right? They seem to have swept up a storm over the past few years making it a key part of many skincare routines. I've always wanted to try one (I even had one on my Christmas list) but I wasn't sure whether they really were worth the money. Let's face it, they can be a little pricey. I've heard so many good things about the Magnitone Lucid and the Magnitone Pulsar so when I was asked if I'd like to try the new Magnitone Barefaced Vibra-Sonic Daily Cleansing Brush* (£70) I couldn't wait to share my experience with you! Let's see what all the fuss is about, shall we?

The box includes: Magnitone Barefaced cleansing brush, a magnetic charger, instruction booklet, warranty and a pretty travel case. Magnitone have clearly put a lot of effort into the packaging. On the inside of the box they have the instructions printed just in case you're one of those people who like to skip the manual (hands up, that's me). If you like to be more thorough there is a booklet too.

How it works:
The idea behind the brush is that the vibra sonic technology really deep cleanses the pores. There is no need to scrub or press hard as the vibrations do all the work. Surprisingly, this is so gentle on the skin despite all those vibrations. I found this weird to get my head around at first as I wasn't sure that it would clean my face without all that scrubbing but I was proved wrong. There are two stages to the cleansing process, the first is obviously the cleaning part, the second is the toning part (a mini workout for your face)!

Step 1:
It is advised that you charge the cleansing brush for 12 hours before initially using it. As the brush is waterproof, you just pop the magnetic charger onto the handle and plug it in. I'm not going to lie, I was amazed by the concept of a magnetic charger! Once the charge is finished, you're ready to go! Just dampen your face/brush then apply your cleanser. To use the brush you press the on button and move it in small circles around each facial zone. This has a nifty little timer which beeps every twenty seconds reminding you to move onto the next area. I'm glad that it has this feature as I can see myself still standing there twenty minutes later with a very red (but clean) face.

Step 2:
You wont believe how excited I was to try this step! You can press the button again to start up the toning stage. This mode feels slightly different to the other. It pulsates feeling like a mini facial massage. The pulsating motion seems to really plump up the skin and afterwards my face appears to glow. Magnitone state that the brush allows all your lotions to get to work more effectively so following the two steps you are then free to follow on with your normal skincare routine.

Results:
I couldn't have tested this at a better time as I had a huge breakout just before using this. Barefaced has helped me through this traumatic time by removing all those dead skin cells and in the process reducing some of the pigmentation left behind by those pesky spots. Magnitone do say that this may cause a small breakout as your skin is getting used to the deep cleansing but I only experienced a few tiny pimples which were gone by the next day. My skin definitely feels the cleanest it has ever been. At first I just thought that this was just a good cleaner but after a few days, my skin started looking plumped up in the mornings and began glowing. What I will say is try to remove the main bulk of makeup before using this as the brush may turn a lovely shade of orange (I swear it doesn't look that colour on my face eek). I've been using my Garnier Micellar Water (read more here) to make sure I've got the first layer off allowing the brush to get right into the pores. Afterwards you just clean the brush with warm soapy water and it is good to go again.

Overall, I'm giving the Magnitone a big thumbs up. I love how well it cleanses my skin and the toning stage just leaves my skin looking so healthy and glowy. My boyfriend has even been hinting at trying this, I think he feels left out when I'm faffing about in the bathroom for so long. I may get him his own brush head and get back to you with his results. Barefaced is now available to buy from Boots or Magnitone.co.uk and come in a range of pretty pastel colours (too cute). As I said before, facial cleansing brushes can be a bit pricey but I can't deny that the results of the cleanse are definitely something that I couldn't have achieved by hand.

Let me know if you've tried a facial cleansing brush before. What's your thoughts?

  1. This sounds like a great product!! :o but personally, I'm sooo lazy when it comes to washing my face and all that so I try to use the least amounts of products and the faster ones lol
Eg: I use baby wipes to remove my makeup (they do the best job to remove makeup! No doubt! Even better than the garnier micellar water!!) and then I moisturizer and that's it! :)
