Honesty: Diy Soothing Shea Butter Lip Kit

Hello lovelies! I've been blogging almost a year. Isn't that crazy?! One thing that I've loved about blogging is being involved in a huge community filled with welcoming people. I remember very early on in the year, I was emailed by a lovely lady who was just starting up her blog. Ever since that email, I've kept in touch with her and I'd definitely count her as one of my blogging buddies. I think this is what makes the blogging world so special.

The lady I'm talking about is called Cheryl and you can find her over on her blog Beaucience. Cheryl is a self professed science geek and her blog focuses on the scientific side of health and beauty. I just love that her blog exists. She researches the side of beauty that we should all know about but noone bothers to tell us. Cheryl has a very natural focus to her blog and often talks about ingredients that we should be using for different skin types and how and why they work.

It wasn't a surprise to me when she mentioned that she had decided to make and sell her own beauty kits all sourced from natural ingredients. Her company name is Honesty which is perfect to describe her and her blog. She gives us the honest side of beauty. When she asked me if I'd like to try one of kits, of course I said yes!

When the kit arrived I was blown away by how much effort she had put in. She had sent me a soothing shea lip butter kit*. I love the idea of making my own beauty products and a diy lip balm is definitely something that comes in handy as I'm always wearing lipstick. She had already measured out the ingredients accordingly and put them in separate labelled bags. She had included three little pots, labels and a lovely instruction guide which also talked about each ingredient and the benefits of using it. Just look at how beautiful everything is. There is nothing better than knowing exactly what is in your beauty products and the fact that this is all natural makes my lips say an extra thank you. I'm always searching for gift ideas for my mum so I might have to get her one for Christmas.

Overall, I'd just like to say how proud of Cheryl I am. It just goes to show what each and everyone one of us can achieve if we put our minds to it. Cheryl asked me whether I thought that she should stick with the make your own kits or if people would prefer the premade products. Personally I love the crafty side of this. What do you all think? I'm all for supporting another blogger so I'm sure you'd all put a huge smile on her face if you could check out her blog. If I remember rightly, she is selling these not only on her product website which I'll leave here but at a market stall at Leeds Briggate. Go say hi.

* I know that this post is very gushy so I'll take this as an opportunity to say that Cheryl didn't pay me to write this. She sent the kit as a good will gesture just incase you were wondering! I'm just so proud of her, I couldn't not review it.

  2. Ah, I remember I have visited her blog before!
It was a good idea that she started doing what she really love and glad to know she come up with a diy version. Well, for me, I think diy is more fun and better than buying premade. Good luck to her!
