The £3 Highlighter: MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter

MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter

Hello again lovelies! Long time no see ey? Well it's only been a week but it feels like I've been away from the blogging world for a while. I've been so tired lately so I thought I'd give myself a well deserved break from the internet. I did intend to post a few days ago but I made the mistake of watching Blue Valentine and it has taken a while to get over the heart ache induced by the film. I'm not even joking, if you haven't seen it you should watch it. Maybe not when you're in the best of moods though as it is definitely a mood killer.

Anyways, I'm back with a review of MUA's  Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter (£3). A few of you recommended this a while back so I obviously had to pick it up. How could I resist such sparkly goodness?

Packaging:
The design of the packaging itself is pretty simple with a white plastic outer and a clear lid. I actually like how simple this is as it doesn't distract from the beauty inside. It's nice to see companies upping their design game. Just look how beautifully presented the embossed powder is. This is high up there on the list of products that I don't want to be too heavy handed with as I wan't it to stay pretty forever. I actually think this looks quite high end minus the plastic outer (it reminds me of Mac's Definitely Defined Extra Dimension Skinfinish).

Product:
If you're a shimmer lover then you are definitely in for a treat. I would describe the colour as a champagne pink with a luminescent shimmer. I think Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter is the perfect name for this product as my skin feels effortlessly undone in a healthy glow kind of way. A light dusting on my cheekbones is definitely enough for me as I don't feel the need to layer it due to the colour pay off. This highlighter is very good at catching the light which is exactly what I look for in a highlighter. Some highlighters can feel very flat if you know what I mean? In terms of longevity. Undress Your skin stays in place for around 5 hours which is pretty good considering I have oily skin mixed with the summer heat.

Thoughts:
Overall, this is perfect for me. The champagne tones really stand out on my pale skin whilst being warm enough to not give me the Edward Cullen effect. I imagine that this would suit all skin tones to be honest but if you're unsure MUA also do it in the shade iridescent gold which looks stunning too. I've been a huge fan of Sleek's contouring and highlighting palette (which I've reviewed here) for a while now and I have to say that MUA's highlighter has definitely overtaken it by a mile. It just feels very me if that makes sense? This was definitely one of those 'a blogger made me do it' purchases but it is one that I don't regret.

Have you tried MUA's Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter before? What's your thoughts?
