The Story Of My New Bargain Handbag

Leopard Print handbag

Hello lovelies! My appreciation for bags has changed over the years. I started with my groovy chick rucksack progressing to one of those garish blow up 90's bags ... not going to lie, I did use it to carry around a teddy bear dog and pretend I was Paris Hilton. I always had high aspirations. I then moved on to high school forcing my parents to buy me a Jane Norman bag just so I could use the carrier bag to look super cool carrying my PE kit. I think this was the beginning of my unnecessary baggage situation.

When I was at college and Uni I often opted for the largest bag possible. When I say large, I mean HUGE. Fearing that someone would steal all the books for the next essay, I would take out half the library and drag them around all day, everyday. I don't know how I never developed bulging muscles from all the carrying I did. Why are uni books so thick? Thinking back, it was probably to stop people like me taking them all. Anyways, not only did I carry around a tonne of books, I was also one of those I need to carry my file around at all times, maybe even a large notebook, twenty highlighters and a few recipts kind of person. If I was lucky I'd even find half a squares bar tucked in there somewhere.

This has resulted in many a sore shoulder/back and I'm so over it. I've been introducing smaller bags to my collection since I finished uni which means that I'm no longer tempted to shove everything in, it also means I no longer panic thinking I've lost everything so I finally have peace of mind. Sorry If i'm boring you, I'll get onto my point.

I found this bag in a shop in my local area. It was one of those shops that contain unsold stock from different brands. If the stock doesn't shift, the price is reduced and I'm happy to share with you that this bag was £4.95! The brand on the label is Simply Be. It's not a brand that I have experience shopping with but how pretty is it! It's leopard print, which is always a favourite of mine but I wouldn't say it was the tacky kind. Inside, there is a small zip up pocket and a detachable gold chain strap meaning it can also be used as a clutch. On the outer bottom, it has gold mirrored detailing which just makes it even more beautiful. I haven't had a chance to give it a whirl yet but it's my new prized possession. Who doesn't love a good bargain handbag?

  1. Such a lovely bag! I always find that the bigger the bag the more stuff I'll carry in it regardless of whether I actually need it or not! So I do try and take a smaller bag to stop that happening!

  4. Cute bag, and what a price! My god I always heave bags around, I don't cram too much junk in any more but I have done in the past. Dreading the day my yoghurt explodes in there! I also had a blow up rucksack, a see through one! So cool.
