New Look Wishlist: The 70's

New Look 70's Style Wishlist

Have you ever been to Topshop, thought ooooh I'll have that, took three steps forward, checked the price tag, mutter the price to your friend then slowly put it back on the hanger? Well I do all the time. I was looking for a denim skirt recently and Topshop had one for £75 eeeek. Don't get me wrong, I love Topshop but for a mini skirt I just can't justify it. For that price I want my skirt to be self cleaning and maybe even self hanging. I had only just gotten over the incident of my old denim skirt (which now resides in the bin) as my zip came undone when I sat down on the bus. As I walked off, the whole skirt came open and fell clean off. I'm still mortified but I thought perhaps my bum isn't as big as it was then or maybe it's time to invest in a new one... who knows, I just wanted a new denim skirt! After my mini heart attack I drifted over to New Look to search for a cheaper alternative. We all know the 70's are back in, fringe, denim, suede, flares you name it. I'm not going to lie, I do have a soft spot for the odd flare. So after walking into 70's heaven I ditched the denim skirt idea and replaced it with all of these goodies. I certainly don't need a constant reminder of my bare bottom so here's my current wishlist.

1. Brown Tortoiseshell Chunky Half Frame Sunglasses(£7.99)

2. Pink Textured Duster Coat(£29.99)
3. Petite Black Polo Neck 1/2 Sleeve Top (£9.99)
4. Camel Button Front Cord Mini Skirt (£19.99)
5. Brown Wool Floppy Hat (£14.99)
6. Black Fringed Mini Duffle Bag (£15.99)
7. Stone Leather Strappy Block Heel Sandals (£39.99)

My favourite definitely has to be the coat. I probably don't even need a new coat, I just threw it in for good measure. It reminds me of David Bowie and Mick Jagger in the dancing in the street video plus it is a lovely nude pink ... I may have just convinced myself to buy it plus it's long in case of future skirt issues.

How do you feel about the 70's revival and what's your favourite?

    1. Haha, it was pretty traumatising... I've avoided skirts with a zip on the back since then. I'm in love with everything, I definitely need a shopping trip soon

  3. Oh no, bum out on the bus, at least you can laugh about it now. Buttons are a much safer option for this time then haha... I absolutely love everything on your recently purchased list. I know what you mean, sometimes Topshop can be rather pricey for what you get. But Newlook seem to have all the great pieces in anyway. Don't be surprised if you see me outfit twinning any time soon. Great selection. =D
