Homemade Lavender Bath Salts

I've been meaning to make use of some natural products that I've gathered over the past few months so I decided to make some homemade Christmas gifts. The first thing I made were these Lavender scented bath salts. I just love lavender. It's a very familiar smell from when I was growing up and I find it really calming. If you'd like to make this then here you go!

Ingredients: Epsom Salts, dried lavender, lavender essential oil

Equipment: a bowl, a spoon and a jar to contain all your lovely salts.

First of all you need to pour your Epsom salts into a bowl. If you're making a bulk of bath salts then you may need quite a lot. I found these salts reasonably cheap from a seller on Ebay, here's their website if you'd like to check it out. Then you need to add dried lavender buds. I found these on Amazon but you can find them anywhere. The good thing about this is that the ingredients are so easy to find. I like the idea of having real lavender in here as it makes it look so pretty plus the buds smell amazing. Add around 6 drops of lavender oil and mix it together. This gives it an extra oomph plus it has been shown to help with sleeping and the scent may help calm anxiety so personally the more the better. Once this is all mixed up scoop the salts into your jar. I bought a set of these jars from Amazon and I think they look gorgeous. I love the hexagon shaped glass with the gold lid, it would look perfect in any bathroom!

I'm going to have to make some room for all the containers I'm trying to fill. If you're struggling with last minute Christmas gift ideas then why not try this? Let me know how you get on!
