The Coat That Time Forgot: The 60's Coat

60's style mustard coat

Hello lovelies! Would you believe I actually bought this coat three years ago in a River Island sale! It was reduced to £10 as a button was missing and I love anything mustard so I obviously had to get it. I tried the coat on but I never knew what to wear it with and I felt paranoid that it was too baggy (I didn't want to look like Paddington Bear). I didn't completely forget about this coat. Ok I lied. I did forget about it but I had promised myself when I bought it that I'd wear this one day... I just never got round to it.

This morning my little boy was looking out of the window (he likes waving to passers by bless him) and I noticed all the leaves on the ground. It really is starting to feel like autumn! It reminded me of my poor jacket and I decided to give it a try. I teamed it with a tartan scarf and surprise surprise I actually loved it. I felt like I should have been kicking leaves or whatever else you're meant to do in Autumn.

I love how cute the buttons are!

The lining has a lovely 60's vibe!

So for now I have learned my lesson. I hope I'm not the only clothes neglecter. That's right, I admitted it. Guilty as charged but I'm hoping to fix that. Why not look in your wardrobe and find an item of clothing that you haven't worn or feel you've neglected. Give it a chance to shine. Even if it needs a a helping hand, you could always customise it with some accessories.
